Langue Hybride by thisquietarmy releases April 18th, 2025 by A Thousand Arms Music and Consouling Sounds.

Available on 140g Solid Brick 12" + 7" vinyl in gatefold jacket.

"Langue Hybride” was written and arranged in less than 4 weeks during thisquietarmy’s music residency at Centre d’Expérimentation Musical (CEM) in the region of Saguenay—Lac-St-Jean, Québec. Not unlike his previous full-band efforts (“The Body and The Earth” or “Machine Consciousness”), thisquietarmy expands his signature brand of guitar-based noise/ambient music even further — this time, assisted by professional session musicians of CEM playing drums, percussion, bass, synth, guitar, violin and cello.

As a nod to the hybrid of languages Eric Quach of thisquietarmy grew up with in Québec, the title also aptly refers to the hybrid of musical languages encountered during this residency involving musicians from different backgrounds such as jazz, metal and classical, blending seamlessly with Quach’s self-taught sonic experimentations and improvised style. The resulting album reflects the exploration of a wide range of genres, skillfully blended with his post-drone vision as a rich, ambitious, elaborate body of work.

Performed by thisquietarmy at Centre d’Expérimentation Musical (CEM) in August 2023 — Saguenay, QC

With the musicians of CEM:

Émile Boucher-Cloutier — Drums, percussions
Jessy Dubé — Violin
Isabelle Harvey — Cello, electronics
Bruno Ouellet — Guitar, electronics

Engineered by Dany Lemay
Mixed by Eric Quach
Mastered by Harris Newman

SHIPPING DISCLAIMER

Please note: Orders that include a pre-order item will not ship until the pre-order is available. To avoid delays, we recommend placing separate orders—one for in-stock items and another for pre-orders.

We take great care to ensure your order is packed safely. All unshrinkwrapped vinyl ships with the record outside the jacket to prevent seam splits. Unfortunately, shrinkwrapped vinyl is always at risk for seam splits during transit from pressing plants, bands, or labels—this is an inherent challenge in vinyl shipping.

Once a package leaves our warehouse, we’re not liable for lost, stolen, or damaged items—but we’re always willing to help resolve issues whenever possible.

Please also keep in mind that most of the vinyl we carry is pressed in Europe and has already traveled a long way before arriving at our warehouse. While we inspect records carefully, minor corner wear, seam splits or jacket imperfections can occur and are sometimes unavoidable.

We aim to ship all in-stock orders as quickly as possible—typically same day or next business day—though some orders may take up to a week depending on workload and season.

All orders ship from our fulfillment center in Manhattan, Montana (USA).
