The Great Work is a four-cassette box set from Ranges, offering reimagined interpretations of past compositions. Inspired by Hermeticism and the alchemical Magnum Opus, each cassette represents one of the four stages of transformation: Nigredo, Albedo, Citrinitas, and Rubedo—a journey from dissolution to illumination.

These versions strip the original songs down to their essence—slowed, stretched, and reshaped into something more meditative and textural. The result is a deeper exploration of familiar themes, filtered through the lens of decay, purification, and rebirth.

Months of careful reconstruction, sound design, and visual experimentation went into this project. Each box is hand-printed, individually assembled, and sealed—offering a tactile artifact to accompany the sonic transformation.
